My name is Andrea. I have been a Veterinary Assistant at Green Meadow since 2012. I have an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. I am currently preparing to take my board exam so I can become a licensed technician.
I am a very active person and enjoy fitness, being outside, hunting, fishing, and spending time with my dogs.
I love my job, because animal care challenges all of us in the veterinary field. They cannot speak to us and tell us what is wrong; we must recognize the different symptoms, and the doctors will know where to start. Every day is different, so there really isn’t a description of what I do. Simply said – I do whatever I am asked to do and more. However, if I had to break it down, it would include: receptionist, nurse, anesthesiologist, surgical assistant, phlebotomist, lab technician, radiographer, infection control officer, paramedic, administrator, counselor, nutritionist, teacher, friend, cuddle buddy, nail trimmer, butt cleaner, instrument scrubber, poop scooper, floor mopper, and a late night shoulder to lean on when times are “ruff”!
