Our Team Leader

Dr. Jessica Smith Kidd

Veterinarian

I am from Marietta Ohio, and knew I wanted to return home after completing my veterinary degree at St George’s University. Dr David Spindler gave me that opportunity at Green Meadow Veterinary Hospital and was a great mentor. As time went on, I got married to my husband Joe, and our family grew. I have three beautiful daughters that keep me busy when I’m not working. We have a French bulldog, Courtney, three cats, Tilly, Figs, and Ding, and four goats, Daisy, Buttercup, Sophia, and Dory. I am licensed as a veterinarian in Ohio and West Virginia. I am a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (WVVMA), and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). This fall I am going to begin my training for veterinary acupuncture. I am excited to learn a new form of treatment for my patients to help with pain management, inflammation, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and other conditions. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Joe and I love music and take in several concerts each year. We also enjoy spending time camping in the summer.

Our Care Team

Dr. Marshall Aanestad

Veterinarian

Hi, I’m Dr. Marshall Aanestad (pronounced “Honest-Ed”). I am a 2020 graduate of the Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and I recently joined the team in June. I’m a second generation veterinarian (my father practiced in Athens for 25 years). My special interests include Ophthalmology and Dermatology as well as working with the occasional sick farm animal.
I am a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), American Heartworm Society (AHS), the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). I also hold certifications in Low Stress Handling and RECOVER CPR Training.
Originally from Pomeroy, OH, I was happy to finally get out of the city back to Southeastern Ohio. My fiancé, Katie, and I have a dog and cat (June and T-Swift), but we’re hoping to get some chickens in the near future.

Craig

Practice Manager

I have been in management most of my life but am fairly new to the veterinary world. I’ve since discovered it is not only an interesting and unceasingly fluctuating environment, but I get to witness fascinating medical procedures and rescues daily. The staff here is wonderful to work with; they are dedicated, well trained, and personally invested in every single animal that comes through the doors.
I am married with two sons, am an avid beekeeper and part time musician, and share our home with dogs, cats, lizards, fish, and a small flock of chickens. I enjoy spending time reading, practicing instruments, hiking, kayaking, playing chess, and, of course, spending time with my family.

Debbie Haas

Hello, I’m Debbie.
I began working at Green Meadow Veterinary Hospital during the spring of 1981 and my responsibilities have changed over the years. I am currently employed as the office bookkeeper, but my tenure allows me to be versatile and help out where I am needed.
When I’m not working I enjoy cooking, and my co-workers enjoy the results of my time experimenting with recipes. I also enjoy collecting old cast iron items.
My family is important to me, and spending time with them is essential. My feathered and furry family welcome me home each day, including one bird, three dogs, and four cats.

What I love most about being a veterinary technician is meeting clients and patients and making a difference in their lives – no matter how big or small.
Outside of work I enjoy playing video games, collecting retro video game systems and memorabilia, fishing, camping, and worrying if George R.R. Martin is going to kill off one of my favorite characters in Game of Thrones.

Jessie

I have always been interested in caring for animals. I began volunteering in a Veterinary Hospital in 2006 for a high school project and knew quickly that this was the career for me.
